Elephant Aid International

Elephant Aid International (EAI) is a nonprofit organization that creates innovative approaches to the care and management of elephants worldwide. We unchain elephants in Asia, teach humane methods of training and handling elephants, and provide a natural habitat refuge for retired elephants in the U.S.

More Than Three Elephants

Elephant Aid International’s work reaches far beyond the Refuge. While we provide lifelong, compassionate care for Bo, Tarra, and Mundi on 850 acres in Georgia, our expertise supports hundreds of elephants across Asia and around the world. For more than 15 years, we’ve trained veterinarians, technicians, mahouts, and caregivers in humane care, foot health, and chain-free management. These long-standing partnerships allow us to offer on-site assistance when possible and real-time remote support when urgent help is needed—from foot care guidance to behavioral evaluations to chain-free construction planning. Our global network ensures that elephants in Nepal, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, France, and beyond receive compassionate, evidence-based care rooted in decades of experience.
