Gratitude on so many levels

There has been a whirlwind of activity on the EAI website since it launched less than two weeks ago. The response to our mission, goals and programs has been outstanding. Our 2010 focus on Thailand, India and Nepal has been met with enthusiastic support.

Elephant Aid International is humbled by the many elephant experts who have agreed to be on our Advisory Council. It is my honor to welcome these renowned professionals, people distinguished by their contributions to elephant welfare. These accomplished individuals will assist EAI’s efforts, providing expertise and direction for EAI’s elephant welfare programs and the care of individual elephants . We welcome the Advisory Council with sincere appreciation, recognizing that our combined efforts will further benefit elephants worldwide.

The two people responsible for the design, development and content of our stunning website may prefer to remain behind the scenes but their brilliance must be acknowledged. This site will continue to be a vehicle to move our work forward. It will be a source of news, features and information; a place for all of us to stay engaged.

As for the outpouring of support from elephant lovers, trainers, caregivers, keepers, activists, veterinarians, scientists, researchers and educators, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your trust and support of this work is the catalyst that will spur our programs forward. Without you we simply could not accomplish this important work. Personally, I plan to harness the enormous volume of positive energy flowing into EAI to empower our vision for elephants.

The EAI website is excellent! The new gallery pictures are very educational, add good information and perspective. Seeing the wounded and ill elephants, the humans responsible for both the damage and the helping care, and the cultural surroundings in your photographs shows us the realities that must be faced and considered as we try to find better ways for everyone involved. When it seems overwhelming, I remember “one elephant at a time.” It is so clear that even the smallest bit of help can have enormous benefit in a world that needs so much.

I am so excited that EAI is taking off in such fine style and that the elephant community has rallied with you to be a part of it. It must be reaffirming to see that so many trust and respect you in the work that you do, see the cutting edge vision that you possess and your determination to see it to fruition. I am hoping that this casts a healing light on some of the deep wounds that were so wrongfully inflicted upon you within the last year. There are 14 elephants whose life could be made brighter, each day, by your presence but their loss has compounded into a greater gain for their families in Asia. While you are busy going forward making life for elephants better “One elephant at a time,” the situation here will be attended to and justice will inevitably prevail. I send loving strength and healing energy to both you and Tarra, knowing that at some time, hopefully very soon, you will be reunited. Life is a forward motion which we cannot control so I am glad to see that you have decided to lunge forward and create a better life for as many elephants as you possibly can. Kudos, Carol!! I am humbled to be a even a small voice in such a great and wonderful project.

I happen to catch your new logo and web design right after it was posted, and I was left with my mouth a gap, it was instantly apparent that whoever designed this knew how to grab the reader’s attention immediately. I LOVED EAI new logo and how easy to navigate the site. Those two behind the scenes designer are going to find it hard to stay unknown when more and more people see their passion and work. Great work!

Carol, how you could ever think that this elephant lover and all the others would not support you in your journey to help captive elephants everywhere? Your inextinguishable passion and work for elephants is admired worldwide. The members of EAI Advisory Board are more proof that your work will be recognized and implemented to benefit Asian Elephants in their own home country. Was that ever a dream you had to take your work to Asia? Your other dream to build an elephant sanctuary for Tara and other elephants was realized.

You Go Girl! Thanks for letting me go along for the ride. It is one I wouldn’t miss. Your work is going worldwide.

Yes, you do go, girl!! The web site is beautiful and I love how it is laid out. You see the things that are needed quickly and we all know where our donations go The logo is awesome! I know you will be seeing your Tarra soon, too….I send my love and support to you in this new journey Carol…..thank you for always being here for the elephants….
