Tarra continues to be my inspiration and mentor. We don’t have to be together to influence each other’s lives. I know that Tarra is fine because I know how Tarra looks at life. She obviously believes that dogs are meant to be an elephant’s best friend. Her eating habits suggest that she thinks a few extra pounds look fabulous on the right pachyderm lady. Tarra’s playful antics clearly indicate her preference for the lighter side of life. And without a doubt, Tarra’s love of adventures proves that she knows how to keep herself and Bella entertained. Clearly Tarra knows that I find her to be the most inspirational being on this planet. That works for her because she loves feeling special.

Tarra is strong and wise, with the open heart of a child with angel eyes.

Carol, that is beautiful…as is the photo of sweet Tarra. My thoughts are always with you that you will see your girl again soon. Who wouldn’t fall hopelessly in love with Tarra? For her to be your inspiration is completely understandable. I know of no humans who can match her strength, compassion, perception, humor and resilience. With that said, you still remain an inspiration to me, Carol. Your patience and acceptance that everything will come to pass in the way that was intended is admirable. To have the ability to allow life to unfold instead of trying to force it in a certain direction is a faith that not many can grasp. Elephants are feelings personified and I have no doubt that Tarra is aware of your every emotion and even of the moment you awaken each morning. I know she senses you longing to be with her as you sense her longing to be with you. I believe that Tarra knows about the unfolding of the future, I only wish that she could put it into words for all of us. Blessings on you and on Tarra; miracles always seem to occur in the most interesting and least expected of ways. It is wonderful to see a post from you again, I miss your wonderful words.

I admire you for being so strong and connected to Tarra in the face of such a long absence from your inspiration and mentor. I hope things can be ironed out so you can visit her soon. It seems an indefensible position TES or its hired guns have taken in keeping you from Tarra, or any of your beloved girls for that matter.

Your relationship with Tarra has spanned decades, you two know each other intimately, in a way others couldn’t possible ever know. Thank you for sharing these tidbits of your relationship with Tarra. Watching Tarra mature into an adult elephant has been apparent these last few years, but I think she will always have that childlike quality that will always sparkle no matter her age.
It is a testament to your influence, guidance and vision to find her the perfect forever home. It is apparent to anyone who sees her that she a happy elephant with a twinkle in her eye. Nothing wrong with being a voluminous and gorgeous gal.

Carol, Tarra has heard conversations and knows exactly what is going on with your absence. I never dreamed about the Sanctuary before you left. Now I do and it makes me wonder about the connection to all of us and the girls. I feel they are sending their own messages of peace and understanding. A reunion between you and Terra will insure goodwill for The Elephant Sanctuary and I feel sure it is on the horizon. You continue to be an inspiration to all of us in dealing with the curve balls in life, thank you!
