THANK YOU to everyone who helped us reach our goal to underwrite 40 elephant foot care kits! In less than 48 hours following the challenge from an EAI supporter, you did it — you reached the goal! I am seriously impressed! You met this need with such generosity and enthusiasm.

Mahouts are people of few material belongings, yet they shoulder a huge responsibility for the elephants in their care.  Your support demonstrates a genuine appreciation for their work and is sincerely appreciated by the mahouts, me and everyone affiliated with Elephant Aid International. It’s not appropriate for me to speak for the elephants but I am sure it’s safe to say they appreciate your support as well.

Since everyone seemed to enjoy the chipin challenge so much, I will make sure that our most urgent need is always posted with a chipin challenge on the EAI site.

    Way to go, everyone!! Carol, there are so many out here who want to see you continue the wonderful work you do and less than 48 hours to reach one of your goals is positive proof. I hope that this new endeavor and your trip to Asia will be resounding successes. Please take us along on your journey through your blog and your fabulous photos. I would check here a couple of times each day, during your last trip to Asia, to see if you had an opportunity to post. Each one of your postings helped me undersand the culture of the people and the elephant’s place within that culture. Reading your words brought us all closer to each of the elephants and to those who are trying to change the way that elephants are treated. Being able to go with you on your travels, in this way, also makes me want to do what I can to see that the quality of life for elephants, all over the world, improves and that their dignity never be compromised. ~Sherry

    WOW!!…and now we’ve got the airfare covered way before schedule, too. What an amazing group of supporters you have, Carol. The Chipin is perfect because it allows for each of us to donate what they can and feel like they are part of the whole. It does not restrict a person to purchasing an item if they can only afford to buy half an item. Every donation is a gift from the heart, no matter how great or how small and the Chipin is the perfect way to let everyone know that their donation is making a difference. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this wonderful new adventure of yours. I received my copies of your books today; they are beautiful and the stories magical.
