Khan Kluay update

I just received an email from Lucy Clark of WFFT, one of Khan Kluay’s target training partners. Lucy says,

“Brilliant Bam is more brilliant than ever! We just had the most wonderful session with him. There were no people around, and it was all very calm. He did everything I asked perfectly, including walking back. I’m so proud of him! I feel like me & him are friends now. His eyes are so different, and he seems so content with my company. It’s a wonderful feeling! Laurene & I are absolutely ecstatic. Carol, thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us. You’ve opened up a whole new world to me, and I feel really blessed to have met you. You have truly enriched the lives of the elephants here, and I look forward to keeping you updated on the progress of them all.”

    What a delight it is to read this post. Just a couple of short weeks ago, Bam was acting out and showing aggression, now he is a happy elephant. Your techniques work no matter where you implement them which just shows how valuable you are to the elephant community, at large. You are doing so much good in Asia and sending the echo around the world. Thank you for your heart, Carol, for it is there that the idea of using kindness to train elephants, instead of force, was born. I thank Tarra, also, for being your inspiration because through her, you learned that elephants know how to give and take love just like we do. Being so close to her for so many years also gave you insight as to how brilliant elephants are and how they really do want to cooperate when treated with dignity, kindness and trust. Be well, Carol, and thank you for including us in your travels through this blog.

    Oh, Carol, while I am still so upset that you are no longer at the helm of TES, I am certain that you are exactly where you need to be helping elephants in so much more dire need than those in Hohenwald. At least you can rest assured that, even though TES has lost it’s heart and soul in you as well as it’s direction, Tarra and the rest of the girls are safe and living the best possible life.

    I am just very disappointed that more elephants haven’t been rescued here through TES. They have more than enough resources at this point to purchase the freedom of some very needy elephants as well as use those resources to influence legislation. Thank you for sharing your journey with your loyal supporters.
