EAI provides education for mahouts (elephant trainers) and elephant care facilities in Asia humane methods of handling and training. Decades of living in close contact with elephants means that mahouts have a wealth of knowledge about how to train and control elephants. EAI expands that knowledge and improves mahouts’ skills with education about elephant biology, psychology and natural behavior. EAI’s goal is to replace the traditional use of pain and domination to control elephants with positive reinforcement and relationship building.
